The lake in Adams Run serves as a wonderful habitat for various wild life to enjoy. Of the wild life, Canadian Geese have attempted to take permenant residence on the lake, abandoning their normal migration paterns. If allowed, the geese population increases drastically (60+) which creates an unhealthy lake and neighborhood environment.
To prevent Adams Run from being overwhelmed with geese, the neighborhood developed a geese management program. The goal of our geese management program is to implement a plan that is sound, practical, humane and transparent to the community. It is our hope that the plan will help manage the goose population to acceptable levels in order to maintain the quality of life and health along the lake.
The Adams Run Geese Management Plan was reviewed and all techniques are approved by the US Wildlife Services. A copy of this management program is available for your review below.
*** New in 2024! ***
The services of Goosebusters has been DISCONTINUED begin the 2024 calendar year. Goosebusters was hired in 2017 to manage our geese population. Goosebuster's services were negatively impacted by our neighborhood's inability to provide Goosebusters full access to the yards surrounding the pond. At our 2023 annual meeting to review our 2024 budget, the neighborhood decided that the limited benefit did not align with the cost of the service.
Therefore, the service contract with Goosebuster's has been terminated effective 2024.
